When you go down here, hovering is much faster than using the elevator. However, the elevator is useful if you want to get more points by using the Lock-on to defeat as many enemies as possible. Try to save some time in the other part of the stage and use the elevator here. Don't forget use the Lock-on to defeat enemies to get more points in the elevator.
